{"id":135,"date":"2009-06-11T22:18:35","date_gmt":"2009-06-11T22:18:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.boogly.net\/?p=135"},"modified":"2009-06-11T22:18:35","modified_gmt":"2009-06-11T22:18:35","slug":"my-chrome-wishlist-just-3-features-to-perfection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/my-chrome-wishlist-just-3-features-to-perfection\/","title":{"rendered":"My Chrome wishlist: just 3 features to perfection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have to say: I&#8217;ve loved <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chrome<\/a> from the minute I started using it. \u00a0What do I like about it? \u00a0Mostly the speed. \u00a0Throughout the day, I have racing thoughts&#8211;things I want to look up, news I want to read, friends&#8217; statuses I want to check. \u00a0Firefox was much too slow (even though I keep my plugins to a minimum), finally opening a browser window in 5-10 seconds. \u00a0Chrome on the other hand, happily gives me a window in half a second (maybe even less!).<\/p>\n<p>Since Chrome came out, I&#8217;ve changed my usage to about 90% Chrome. \u00a0I use Firefox every now and then for some occasional debugging. \u00a0And Safari sometimes when I want to register for free stuff online but have already used Chrome and Firefox and I&#8217;m too lazy to go locate and clear the cookie.<\/p>\n<p>With the somewhat recent advent of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adsweep.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adsweep<\/a>, there are only three features that are keeping Chrome from being my 100% perfect browser:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Print Preview<\/strong><br \/>\nI&#8217;m so cheap! \u00a0Even though my printer has automatic duplexing (that means it automatically prints to both sides of the paper), I like to make sure what I print is still in my budget. \u00a0I&#8217;ll even tweak the margins and zoom to make sure it&#8217;s cheap enough. \u00a0Give me Print Preview so I know what I&#8217;m getting!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Smooth Scrolling<\/strong><br \/>\nThis has irritated me ever since I made the move from Internet Explorer to Firefox back in 2006. \u00a0It hurts my eyes&#8211;I do tons of scrolling and it&#8217;d be a lot nicer to have the pages gently gliding across my screen rather than jumping a line at a time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Right-click Properties<\/strong><br \/>\nA lot of times I&#8217;ll see a graphic and think &#8220;I wonder what they named that&#8221; or &#8220;I wonder if there&#8217;s more where that came from&#8221;. \u00a0In Firefox or IE, I would just right-click on the element and then &#8220;properties&#8221;. \u00a0Bam! \u00a0I would see what the file is named and the dimensions. \u00a0Having this feature would be pretty useful on websites that don&#8217;t include a caption or don&#8217;t tell where the photo was taken.<\/p>\n<p>So if any Chromium developers are reading this: please develop these features!! \u00a0Then my life will be complete!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have to say: I&#8217;ve loved Chrome from the minute I started using it. \u00a0What do I like about it? \u00a0Mostly the speed. \u00a0Throughout the day, I have racing thoughts&#8211;things I want to look up, news I want to read, friends&#8217; statuses I want to check. \u00a0Firefox was much too slow (even though I keep [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[37,63,162],"class_list":["post-135","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-software","tag-chrome","tag-features","tag-wishlist"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/135","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=135"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/135\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=135"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=135"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/otherchin.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=135"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
